During the webinar celebrating the 20th anniversary of ecoDa (The European Confederation of Directors Associations), dedicated to the central theme of EU competitiveness and corporate governance, Constance d'Aspremont, our CEO, provided an in-depth analysis of key corporate governance trends over the past two decades. Her insights were based on companies from the Eurozone 300 and Stoxx Europe 600, with a comparative perspective on S&P 100 companies.

Among the key trends highlighted during the presentation:

- The representation of women on boards has significantly increased in recent years, reaching an average of 40% in the largest European companies; however, they remain underrepresented in leadership positions such as Chair of the Board or CEO (around 10%).

- European board members are younger than their American counterparts and serve for shorter tenures.

- The remuneration of board members has increased since 2019, reflecting evolving expectations and accountability requirements.

- External board evaluations have made significant progress.

The webinar also featured two panel discussions on developing a robust ecosystem for EU competitiveness and the role of corporate governance in strengthening Europe’s competitive edge.
